In the Footsteps of Giants: The Journey to Justice Tour Arrives in Harlem
From Langston Hughes to Adam Clayton Powell Jr., Harlem has long been home to giants who fought for justice and human dignity. Today, a new chapter in that struggle unfolds as we confront one of the most urgent human rights crises of our time: the torture of solitary confinement. The Journey to Justice Tour arrives in Harlem to honor that legacy, bringing this fight to the very steps where giants once stood and demanding that their work for justice continues.
Join us for a powerful day of witness and advocacy at the Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building. Throughout the day, the public is invited to experience the groundbreaking Journey to Justice bus. At 10:00 AM, we will hold a press conference featuring directly impacted leaders, community advocates, and elected officials to demand an end to the torture of solitary confinement in New York.
From 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the interactive museum bus will be open to all. Step aboard this powerful vehicle for change to experience a ‘Smithsonian-style’ exhibit designed by directly impacted people. Through powerful audio installations, compelling video accounts, and immersive virtual reality, you will hear the unfiltered truths of survivors and understand the devastating human cost of isolation.
Your presence matters. Stop by to experience the bus, stand with us at the press conference, and show your support for this critical movement. Together, we can make our voices heard from Harlem to Albany.
